Dell launches enterprise knowledge agents grounded in data graphs
Dell Technologies introduced three interconnected capabilities designed to give enterprise AI agents grounded access to corporate data while maintaining governance and security controls. Announced on October 6, 2026 Dell, the expansion of Dell's AI Data Platform comprises a Unified Semantic Layer, an Enterprise Knowledge Graph, and Knowledge Agents.
How Knowledge Agents Work
Each Knowledge Agent functions as a "trusted advisor" on a specific topic, anchored to a defined portion of the Enterprise Knowledge Graph Network World. The underlying graph maps relationships among structured and unstructured enterprise data, using metadata, lineage, and query history to update itself as business activity changes. This architecture enables agents to operate with context rather than hallucinate or operate blind to corporate information architecture.
Governance and Security
Dell positioned governance as central to the release. Customers will be able to define the information an agent may access, the specific rules it must follow, required quality standards, and resource or spending limits CRN. All three capabilities will operate within the customer's own environment, supporting data sovereignty and security requirements Digital Today, a material differentiator in enterprise deployments where data residency and control remain regulatory and competitive imperatives.
Availability and Strategy
Dell planned to release the Unified Semantic Layer, Enterprise Knowledge Graph, and Knowledge Agents in the first half of 2027 CIO Economic Times. The announcement represents Dell's continued positioning in the agentic-AI infrastructure layer, where agent actions depend on reliable, governed access to enterprise context. By bundling data mapping, knowledge representation, and agent deployment in a single platform, Dell aims to reduce the surface area for agent errors and compliance violations in high-stakes corporate environments.
